This year has also been a big year of growth for CRF as an organization. At the beginning of the year we had only one paid staff member, and now we have a passionate and talented five person team that collectively contributes over 150 hours per week to our shared goal of defending mature forests. Unlike most nonprofits and companies, all CRF staff members get paid the same living wage. We believe that each team members’ contribution is equally valuable and integral to CRF’s success, and that financial compensation should reflect this value. Support CRF The only way we were able to grow and achieve this year’s tangible successes was with the financial support of our community. We are honored to receive this support, and are deeply grateful to all of you who have donated to CRF this year. Your donations ensure that CRF can continue this important forest defense work. The important wins we’ve achieved in 2023 will be the building blocks of our 2024 goals: to secure more funds for mature forest conservation, and enact a moratorium on logging all mature state forests until DNR ensures permanent protection through policy change. Next year DNR will begin the process of determining the volume of timber harvests for the next decade. This process is called the Sustainable Harvest Calculation (SHC), and it’s when new policies can be introduced. Your continued support will enable us to fight hard for the mature forest conservation policy that we so desperately need. |
