“UU – The Epitome of the Declaration of Independence Preamble and the 1st Amendment”

Picture of Don Dissinger

Speaker: Donald L. Dissinger

Service Leader: Dianne Whitaker

The basis of this presentation will be the resonances between Don’s experience at the Olympic UU Fellowship and how it compares with his experience teaching 12th Graders about the United States government.

This Sunday’s Speaker: Don was raised an “Army Brat” and traveled in Europe and around the Eastern half of the U.S. in his early years. After earning his teaching degree at Penn State University, he took a job teaching in a rural Pennsylvania School District. He considers himself fortunate that he was able to spend his entire 40-year career in that same district. The most enjoyable aspect of that work was the last decade when he taught civics to 12th Grade students. Several years after retirement, both he and his wife, Linda, felt a need to change their location and relocated to the Olympic Peninsula.

One can attend the service either in-person or via Zoom.
