The Center for Responsible Forestry brings us some great news!

The City of Port Angeles has submitted an application under DNR’s Trust Land Transfer Program – the Elwha Watershed Protection Project – to transfer 3,089 acres of state forest lands in the Elwha River Watershed away from WA Department of Natural Resources industrial forest management and into protected status for drinking water protection, habitat restoration and climate resilience. Community support is a key criteria for the application to be approved and the application needs letters of support before April 1st.  You can access the City’s Application HERE.
