This came in from Jolie Will today June 30th:

- Greetings! This week has an urgent call to action. The Senate Republicans are currently advancing their version of the billionaire-enriching mega-bill for a final vote. They hope to have it completed before the 4th of July, hopefully sooner! If successful, this bill:
- Forces nearly a trillion dollars in cuts to Medicaid — the largest cut to the life-saving program ever by a factor of FOUR
- Gives ICE a larger budget than many militaries around the world
- Strips healthcare away from 5% of Americans
- Kicks 11.8 million people off SNAP benefits
- Not only cuts funding for green energy but actually taxes it — threatening to balloon energy costs and eliminate hundreds of thousands of jobs
- Represents the largest transfer of wealth from the poor to the rich in US history
Let your elected representatives know you are not in favor of this bill. Primarily we are reaching out to Republican Senators; however, voicing your opinion has a powerful impact and can be done with a short phone call, even to connect with members of the House of Representatives. Call the Washington DC legislative operator: 202-224-3121 and ask to be connected:
U.S. Senator Patty Murray U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell
Representative Emily Randall (D) District 6 (Olympic Peninsula area)
Representative Suzan DelBene (D) District 1
Representative Rick Larsen (D) District 2
Representative Marie Gleuesenkamp Perez (D) District 3
Representative Dan Newhouse (R) District 4
Representative Michael Baumgartner (R) District 5
Representative Pramily Jayapal (D) District 7
I will soon be sending information about upcoming local events. ~ Jolie
Here is a sample text of what you can say:
“The Republican tax package that the Senate is considering will strip healthcare and food assistance away from millions of Americans to pay for massive tax breaks for the ultra-rich. Approval of this bill will do incredible harm to many people in our state. As a constituent, I urge you to vote no on this bill nd stop the cuts to Medicaid, SNAP, and other vital programs!”
Please let me know if you no longer wish to receive these emails.
PleaseThe RepublicanHer tax package that the Senate is considering will strip healthcare and food assistance away from millions of Americans to pay for massive tax breaks for the ultra-rich. As a constituent, I don’t know how you could ever vote to do this to the people of our state.
I urge you to vote no on this bill and stop the cuts to Medicaid, SNAP, and other vital programs.
Sincerely,
